home decor ribbon

birthday party decorations?
What is the best way to hang birthday party decor? Streamers, confetti and ribbon. If you are wishing to enhance one particular area….what do you do with the streamers and ribbon to make it look most festive? (in a personal home, kitchen area to be exact…or possibly living room).
I always take balloons and blow them up and take the streamers and ribbon and decorate the light fixtures. If you have a chandelier over your table take the streamers and tie them to the balloon and then tie the other end to the chandelier. Add ribbon in between and tie-lots of fun colors. If you have construction paper or poster board and want to cut out stars you can hang them with the ribbon from the chandelier in between the balloons.
Be Careful and don’t get the decorations next to a hot light bulb.
Put a cloth or paper tablecloth on the table-Either will do and on each corner gather up the corner of the table cloth and put a balloon and streamers-You can secure with rubber bands. Sprinkle confetti over the table cloth.
I always decorate the door or the mailbox in the same fashion.
If you are serving food on a seperate area cut out some stars that are large enough to go under the serving pieces so that they stick out around and make the dish look festive and more confetti there. If you don’t want to do the stars use paper doile’s and sprinkle confetti around your serving pieces.
I sometimes take the small strings of christmas lights and put them under the table cloth in the middle so that they shine through- and put my appetizers in between the lights. I do this on my counter in the kitchen or on my sideboard in the dining room if I am serving the food from those areas and sprinkle confetti.
